James Remodel - This project is a house built a long time ago :). I have created a design that requires the kitchen to be moved from the front left corner of the house to the back right corner. I know, I know, "Go Big or Go Home" :D! I'm putting the kitchen in the back so the home owners can enjoy the view of the river from the living and kitchen. I'll be adding a deck off the back of the house to allow even more river viewing. I'm taking out most of the interior walls that were in the original house to open up the floor plan. This house had 12' ceilings originally and some time ago there was an 8 ft ceiling added so we are taking the 8 ft ceiling down and raising the ceiling up to 10' which will give this space more open feeling. I'm turning the old bedroom into a laundry/pantry/guest 1/2 bath/coat closet. Naturally I'll be adding a 5 ft wide kitchen window to view the river. It's kinda my signature to add larger kitchen windows. I just think if we need to stand there cleaning up, we might as well feel like we're out side. I'm turning the old kitchen into a master bedroom, closet & bath. The bath will have a walk-in tiled showed surrounded by glass. The tube will be a drop/built-in tub and this bath will have a double vanity. All of the windows will be replaced and rep-positioned. I'm replacing and moving the staircase that goes downstairs and adding a gas fireplace. I'm so excited to be doing this project because I love seeing old homes being invested in. There's so many memories there and I think of the investment generations before made. How proud they were of their home and the security the home gave.
